This resource guide identifies materials located in the collections of  Pius XII Memorial Library and on the Web that are useful for students in counseling and family therapy and counselors.  Although not comprehensive, it does cover a wide variety of sources most frequently required by library users.

     Updated daily.  This multidisciplinary database that includes education provides indexing and abstracting for 8,040 scholarly journals from various fields and has full text for over 4,060 beginning as far back as 1975. 6,679 journals are peer reviewed.

     Updated monthly.  Produced by the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP). This database indexes and abstracts journal articles, books and book chapters, government documents, and reports about aging and middle age from an interdisciplinary perspective.  Subject areas include public policy, business, health and healthcare services, consumer issues, psychology, gerontology, economics, and sociology.

     Updated monthly.  This database abstracts and indexes the international literature in sociology and related social and behavioral science disciplines.  It provides abstracts of journal articles and citations to book reviews from over 1,800 serials, and also provides abstracts of books, book chapters, dissertations, and conference papers. Journal records added since 1973 article abstracts.  Many records from key sociology journals published since 2001 also include the references cited in the bibliography of the source article.  Each individual reference may also have links to an abstract and/or to other papers that cite that reference.

Web of Science.  1995- . Thomson/ISI. In-library and remote access.
     Includes three databases, Social Sciences Citation Index, Arts & Humanitites Citation Index, and Science Citation Index Expanded.  Search by topic, author, or journal or find articles citing a particular article or author.
