Four strategic themes provide the framework for this Strategic Plan: the libraries’ role in the academic enterprise, envisioning the library as place, offering community-engaging opportunities, and unlocking the libraries’ potential.
Identified through these themes are the need to provide seamless access to information in all formats, establish ideal conditions for the preservation and access of our rare and unique materials, create libraries that are user-centered, enrich the academic community we serve through partnership development, and create a dynamic learning organization that can easily respond to the ever-changing needs of the University community.
Meeting these needs requires us to restructure and increase the allocation of support for information resources that support research and scholarship; modernize archive, preservation, and exhibition environments to meet national standards; re-create and expand the Libraries space to accommodate resources and services that constantly change and grow; increase opportunities for sustainable funding and community engagement; and cultivate the organization to optimize human and information resources.
