This is the place
to go when you need sources for a paper or specific information on
a topic. Librarians will help you use the resources at Pius
or tell you how to get materials from other libraries. Other
services offered include course-related library presentations and
orientation tours, CD-ROM and Web-based databases, print indexes and
reference books, an individualized Research Assistance Program (RAP),
and a variety of library guides and instructional handouts.
Over fifty computers
are available for database and library catalog searching. SLU
students, faculty, and staff may also type papers, create PowerPoint
presentations, or use a personal laptop computer at one of the Laptop
Stations. Printing from public access computers in the
Reference Department is handled by laser printers, providing fast,
high-quality printed pages. Black & white computer print outs
are $.09 per page and color copies and
prints are $.50 per page. Add Billiken Bucks to your SLU ID for printing. |

Reference Librarian/Government Documents

Pius XII Memorial Library (Depository #0323) has been a designated Federal
depository library since 1866 giving us a strong historical collection
combined with electronic access to current governmental information.
We serve the students, faculty and staff of Saint Louis University as
well as the citizens of Missouri's First Congressional District.
Reference materials and electronic resources are located in the Reference
Department on Level One. The majority of the Documents collection
is on the Lower Level and the newer materials are listed in the Saint Louis University
Libraries Catalog. However, older materials are not cataloged, so
please ask for help at the reference desk. The reference librarians
provide assistance with government information in all subject areas
and formats.
